Down Payment Assistance Programs in the San Francisco Bay Area

While I do make every effort possible to maintain an updated database of down payment assistance programs, sometimes I may miss one. If you did not see your city or county on the list does not mean that there isn’t a down payment assistance program for you.

Alameda County- A program for First Time Homebuyers available from the City of Alameda, California.

Butte County- This one is kind of limited, I think there’s only one program for the City of Biggs.

Contra Costa County- Includes down payment assistance programs for the City of Oakley and Concord, as well as a mortgage credit program.

El Dorado County- Mortgage Credit Certificate program and First Time Homebuyer Program for El Dorado County.

Fresno County- ACCESS program information for Fresno County.

Lake County- Right now there is only a down payment assistance program for Shasta.

Madera County- There’s only one program and it’s available for the City of Madera, still worth looking at.

Marin County- Mortgage Credit Certificate for Marin County.

Merced County- There are very specific assistance programs in Merced County and there’s one specific down payment assistance one for the City of Merced.

Monterey County- There’s information on the City of Monterey First Time Homebuyer Program as well as the Community Housing Trust of Monterey.

Napa County- The only city specific program available is for the City of Napa.

Placer County- There are city specific programs for the City of Placer as well as the City of Rocklin.

Sacramento County- Quite a wealth of resources for down payment in Sacramento County. Worth a look.

San Francisco County- First time homebuyer and down payment programs in San Francisco and surrounding areas.

San Joaquin County- Specific information for the City of Manteca First Time Homebuyer Program.

San Mateo County- Quite a few resources here.

Santa Clara County- A wealth of resources for first time homebuyer programs and down payment assistance in Santa Clara County.

Santa Cruz County- Home loan programs and a first time homebuyer program in the City of Santa Cruz.

Shasta County- Down payment assistance in the City of Sha sta Lake as well as home loan programs in Shasta County.

Solano County- Programs in Solano County.

Stanislaus County- First time homebuyer programs for the Cities of Turlock, Ceres, and the County of Stanislaus.

Tulare County-First time homebuyer assistance for the City of Tulare.
